Anna Franklin
As a native Italian I carry with me the love of all arts and the appreciation of their evolution in time. After a teaching career of 34 years, I dedicated myself entirely to art and began painting in earnest. I have resided in Brooklyn and East Hampton, New York and have found inspiration in the beauty of nature surrounding me.
I studied with well known painters, joined many well respected art organizations, sat on the board of many, became President of the Volunteers of Guild Hall, a famous museum/theatre in East Hampton and also organized for them artists’ studio tours for over 8 years.
I have won recognition and awards and have been written up in local newspapers. Due to the fact that the Hamptons attract world wide residents, I am in the collections of many local and international patrons. Coming to Naples as a snow bird, I started to take courses, exhibited in juried shows, won First Prize in a small work’s exhibit at Naples Art Association. I now reside full time in Naples and I am looking forward to be part of the Florida art scene.
I am passionate about my painting, and executing what moves me, may take many forms. I am equally at home with representational painting as well as abstract and because of my imaginative curiosity, the need to meet new challenges, I will not be limited to one form of expressions or to one medium.
I am, therefore, a very eclectic painter because I have a visceral need to execute my emotions in the visual form that suits the moment and the subject.
