Jean Green
Jean Green is an artist who grew up in Providence, RI, and received a degree in Music Education from Berklee College of Music. She taught music in the public schools for 28 years and retired in June of 1981.
Jean loved art but never had any formal training and so upon retirement, she decided to take classes, enrolling in CCRI and later in classes at RISD in Providence.
Finding that this was now a passion she wanted to develop, she has taken numerous workshops with such renown artists such as Kathy Anderson, Qiang Huang, Tatiana Sink, Marco Bronzini, Hollis Dunlap, Steven Assael, Jordan Sokol, Joshua LaRock, Daniel Keys, Susan Lyon, Todd Casey, William Schneider, Arturo Sanmaniego, Nancy Newark and most recently, Howard Friedland.
Her inspiration comes from varying subjects from still life to landscapes, combining her love of travel into many of her compositions.
She has exhibited in Wickford Art museum, Warwick Art Museum, Cranston Public Library, East Greenwich Library, Main St. Coffee in East Greenwich, Spring Bull Gallery in Newport, RI, Bonita Center for the Arts. She is happy to join the family of artists in Coco Gallery in Estero, Florida.
