B. Deborah Vahab
B. Deborah Vahab is a contemporary painter working in both oil and collage. Born and raised in Brooklyn, she took the subway to every major museum and exhibition in the New York Metropolitan area. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree for the City University of New York, and a MA from NYU, Vahab took advantage of ongoing art education including the New School and the Westchester Art Workshop. Most instructive is reported to be the decades of solo work and experimentation in her studio where her life themes take shape. Themes sprout from the artist’s inner landscape and include political as well as personal aspects of her life. B. Deborah Vahab’s artwork has been exhibited in Southwest Florida and in the Mid-Atlantic Region at venues including the Hudson River Museum and Mamaroneck Artist’s Guild.
Speaking of her work the artist says, “During my lifetime of creating images on canvas, my subject matter has not changed. I paint from the inner landscape and create still life from the same geography.”
