Francine is a retired special-needs teacher who moved to Estero Florida in 2004. She has been creating functional and decorative fused glass since 2005. Fused glass, like nature, surrounds us with color - color that is not static. Light affects the colors we see in trees, flowers, water and sky. Sunlight can change a mountain from orange to purple. Francine tries to capture this complexity when she creates her pieces.
Francine’s formal art training started early at the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Cleveland Art Institute. Subsequently she learned to do stained glass at the Standing Rock Studio, Kent OH. Francine studied fused glass technique at the Center for the Arts in Bonita Springs and the Cape Coral Art Studio.
Achievements:
-Work has sold internationally; including Sweden, United Kingdom and Canada.
- Created the personalized Academy of Geriatric Emergency Medicine highest annual award 2011 to present
- Created the 2011 Vision Award for The League of Environmental Educators (given to Clyde Butcher for his work in making people aware of the environment through his photographs)
-Charter Member of the COCO Gallery in Estero
