Miyoun (Mimi) Leone
South Korean born artist Miyoun Leone studied the Fine Art at the Seoul National university.
After the graduation with a fine art degree and an MBA degree from the George Washington
University, she worked in aviation research and development (R&D) field for over 30 years. She
travelled extensively during her corporate career. Informed by her love of adventure and a life
spent traveling the world, she uses a variety of mediums to create art which explores the hopes
and dreams of us. Inspired, by the beauty of the natural world, as well as by the magical web of
life, her evocative themes and bold use of color, create paintings which are both personal and
highly relatable. Following a thirty- year pause spent climbing the corporate ladder, traveling
and raising a family of three children, Miyoun rediscovered her passion for art, and began to
paint again in 2015. Now retired, and living in Naples, Florida, in the United States, she spends
twelve plus hours a day, drawing upon all that she has learned and seen, to integrate ideas and
emotions into the creation of abstract and figurative works of art which are often both calm
and mysterious. Miyoun combines images, color, and textures to create thoughtful paintings
which are designed to be seen, but even more importantly to be felt and experienced.
