Oil
Patricia Abosch
I always had a passion for drawing and painting and pursued my interest in the fine arts at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. where I had the privilege to study with many well known and working artists. After graduating I taught Fine Arts at a New York City high school but had little time to create my own art. Retiring gave me the freedom, opportunity and time.
My paintings are primarily in oil, on canvas of local landscapes. After moving to Connecticut, I painted and exhibited at Silvermine in New Canaan, and the Stamford Art League. Although I have painted many portraits of family members most of my paintings are of landscapes and flowers that are nearby.
Now living in Florida, the nature that surrounds me, the tropical flora and fauna that is so unique to this area is the primary subject of my work. Although I recently lost all my vision in one eye, I am so grateful that I have been able to continue to paint and to read, which is my other love.
