Acrylics and Oil
Miyoun (Mimi) Leone
Born and raised in South Korea, I majored in fine arts at Seoul National University, one of the most competitive art schools in Korea. I later travelled to the United States, earning a master's degree in business from the George Washington University. I worked for the Federal Aviation Administration's R&D center for thirty years, leading aviation engineering projects to assist foreign governments in the building of mega airports, and in the development of air traffic control, and satellite systems. After a successful corporate career, traveling millions of air miles, and raising three children. my passion for painting was reignited. Moving to Naples in 2021, I soon decided to take early retirement, beginning a new chapter, as a full-time artist. Inspired by life in SouthWest Florida, I typically spend 12 hours a day refining techniques and creating thoughtful works of art designed to both engage and uplift viewer. Through my paintings, I tell stories of peace, beauty and love, and explores the very mystery of life. In order to achieve this, I work in a wide variety of mediums, including oils, acrylics, and pastels, and in a wide range of styles, from abstract to realism. At present, my paintings are exhibited at Coco Art galleries in Naples, FL. and in the Suppoment Gallery in Seoul, Korea. I have also been selected as a finalist in a 2023 international search for emerging artists. One of my paintings is currently exhibited at the Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center for its 2023 Painting Annual Exhibition through February 8, 2024.
