Jean Green
Jean Green is an artist who grew up in Providence, Rhode Island and received a degree in Music Education from Berklee College of Music in Boston. She taught music, first in Braintree, Mass, and then in the Cranston Public Schools in RI till retiring in 2010.
Jean always loved art, so upon her retirement in Cranston, she decided to pursue taking drawing and painting classes at CCRI and then at RISD continuing education. Discovering that this was now a passion she wanted to develop, she has been taking classes and workshops with such reknown artists such as Kathy Anderson, Qiang Huang, Tatiana Sink, Marco Bronzini, Jordon Sokol, Joshua LaRock, Hollis Dunlap, Steven Assael, Susan Lyon, Daniel Gerhartz, Michele Bryne, Daniel Keys, Todd Casey, William Schneider, Arturo Sanmaniego, Nancy Nowak, and most recently, Howard Friedland.
Her inspiration comes form varying subjects from still life to landscapes, combining her love of travel into many of her compositions.
She has exhibited in Wickford Art Museum, Warwick Art Museum, Cranston Public Library, East Greenwich Library, Main Street. Coffee in East Greenwich, RI and Lyme Art Association in Ct. In 2021 she became a resident of Florida and is a member of Bonita Center for the Arts in Bonita Springs. She is excited to join the family of artists at Coco Gallery, Estero Florida.
