Carolina Albrizzio-López
Carolina Albrizzio-López, a Venezuelan born artist based in Naples, FL, has been working in watercolors for several years. Since childhood, she has always been a very creative person, always surrounded by art, theater and music, but as a watercolorist it was not until she moved to Miami and right before Hurricane Irma hit Florida, she picked up some art supplies at her local shop to “kill” time during and after the hurricane. When she found herself stuck home with no electricity for a couple of weeks, she picked up a brush and it was love at first brush stroke. Despite watercolor’s unpredictable qualities, the transparencies of colors and fluidity of the medium was challenging but also very exciting.
Carolina spent many years living in southern Europe with her family, and her paintings reflect her experiences lived abroad. Her paintings are vibrant full of tropical and Mediterranean colors. “In these parts of the world, the flowers, skies and water are brighter. They make me happy”, said the artist. Painting portraits are her passion, but botanicals and landscapes are also favorite themes.
Carolina is a member of the Estero Art League and the Southwest Florida Watercolor Society.
