Service Description

October 8–9 | 12:00–6:00 PM Daily Includes a one-hour break each day Join nationally recognized artist and educator Micah Goguen for an immersive, hands-on exploration of more than 12 GOLDEN professional gels, pastes, grounds, and acrylic media. Designed for representational, impressionist, and abstract artists, this two-day laboratory goes beyond demonstration. Participants will experiment, compare, layer, and discover how different products can create depth, texture, volume, transparency, and visual interest. DAY ONE: THE LABORATORY Create multiple sample boards while exploring professional media, color, texture, layering, and surface effects. Learn what each product does and how to make informed choices for your own artistic practice. DAY TWO: PUT IT INTO PRACTICE Apply what you've learned to create your own 16" × 20" textured landscape samples, using an Everglades or marsh image as inspiration. Transform your surface with the techniques explored in the laboratory and develop your own expressive interpretation artwork. YOUR EXPERIENCE INCLUDES • Hands-on exploration of 12+ GOLDEN media products • Professional demonstrations and product education • Sample boards and technique testing • Exploration of color, texture, layering, and composition • 16" × 20" Ampersand Prime Smooth Panel • Completed sample board and finished textured landscape • All workshop materials and product literature New to gels, pastes, and GOLDEN mediums? We highly recommend taking Depth & Texture on October 6 as a foundation before attending this advanced two-day laboratory. The workshops are designed to complement one another but may be taken independently. Come experiment. Discover. Build. Transform the surface. Limited enrollment for a hands-on, immersive experience.
