Wednesday, October 7 | 4:00–6:00 PM COCO Art Gallery Naples | Coastland Center Bring the artwork that has you stuck, frustrated, or questioning where to go next. In this unconventional critique experience, nationally recognized artist and educator Micah Goguen takes critique beyond the typical discussion of the elements of art. Together, artists will explore what the work is trying to say, where it wants to go, and what might be holding it back. Micah may mark up, alter, layer, or work directly over the artwork to demonstrate creative possibilities, techniques, and teachable moments. But this is not a traditional critique. This is an opportunity to see your work through a different lens with creative problem-solving discussion - and discover that sometimes the piece you are ready to sacrifice is the one that can teach you the most through movement and technique. What to expect: • Bring one troubled or unfinished artwork you're willing to experiment with • Receive a professional critique and creative assessment • Explore ways to strengthen composition, color, texture, value, and visual impact • Learn how to recognize opportunities hidden inside a troubled piece with a fresh perspective • An open mind and willingness to let go and see what happens Instructor: Micah Goguen Nationally Recognized Artist & Educator Come prepared for critique.
