Adriana Rangel

My love and passion for watercolor, or Aquarelle, dates back to my childhood in Colombia. I was fascinated with the creative process, finding inspiration from colors in sunsets, flowers and nature in general. I love dancing with my partners, my brushes, and seeing the paint and the water unpredictably blend to create amazing, large and unique images on the paper. My favorite technique is "wet-on-wet". Painting and creativity is in my soul, my mind and in my blood.

My love of creating art became a big part of my life after retiring from a career in secondary education. Creativity takes time, patience and talent. Luckily the "art " gene runs in my family and retirement gave me the opportunity to pursue it.

As far as I can remember, art has always been my favorite pastime. I have gone from using crayons to brushes and now I sculpt using materials that are familiar and accessible to me. I used to work in construction and home restoration. From there I got familiar with the uses of Bondo, crack filler foam and others materials and tools. I am still learning and developing new techniques to push the limits of what I can do with these materials

Through my art artwork, I let my inner child come out to play, making whimsical art pieces full of vibrant colors and character, to bring out a smile or some laughter. But I also like to let my serious side take over to capture a moment in time that somehow has touched my heart
and soul or just simply left me in awe.
The diversity of my art has allowed me to share my gift with many different art collectors and people walking by.

It brings me joy to see a persons reaction when my work catches their eye. For a small moment in time, they get to escape into the colors, shapes and emotions. They get to see where I go when I get lost in my artwork.

My art style has really evolved from a forty year advertising career, where as Creative Director & CEO of the Schutte Group, I created and developed very successful marketing campaigns that won over one hundred national awards for their creative impact and visual excitement.
My interpretive painting style works to create a sense of movement and action using a strong color palette designed to evoke a feeling of excitement and emotion.
My process hopefully develops works of art where the viewer is intrigued by the composition, color, and the expressive nature of the paintings.
Many of my abstract paintings grace the walls of homes throughout Southwest Florida. In addition, my art now is part of the permanent art collection of Roswell Park Cancer Institute of Buffalo.

My intention is to create works of art that please my visual and emotional aesthetic and share them with others.

Peter & Melida Sottong

A carver of Chesapeake Bay decoys for more than 20 years, Naples resident, Peter Sottong, has turned his attention to contemporary metal clad wood sculptures. Once the design is developed for the wood core art, they're formed, fabricated and assembled, multiple layers of ground bronze, silver, pewter, iron, brass or copper are applied. Finally, patinas and other finishes are added to create one-of-a-kind images. These fine art pieces can be used in exterior locations, i.e., lanais, boats, pool and bath areas as well as interior walls in a home or business.

My enjoyment in creating art is the observation of an object or scene and being able to create it on canvas.

During my lifetime of creating images on canvas, my subject matter has not changed. I paint from the inner landscape and create still life from the same geography.
